Cornish artist Tamsyn “Gurdybird” Swingler has very kindly produced a set of limited edition lino prints all inspired by the work of the Cornish Culture Association. For each print sold a donation is made to the work of the CCA. Each print is pressed by hand in limited quantities. They are then hand finished, numbered, titled (if the title doesn’t appear in the image) and signed by the artist. They are also individually mounted, but can be carefully removed should you wish to have them framed. The image below is how the print looks, and the watermark is only included for internet protection. Due to the process of printing, some small differences are likely.
Montol is the Cornish Midwinter festival of Misrule, held in Penzance on the 21st December. It is celebrated with processions, guise dancing, choosing a Master of Misrule, music, chalking the mock and fire! The Sun Resplendent denotes the return of the Sun and longer days.
