Shenagrum  is a mixture of warmed dark beer sweetened by two spoons of demerara sugar and fortified with “good” rum all topped off with a twist of lemon and cinnamon to taste. This particular recipe was recorded by Ted Gundry a presenter from regional Radio station “Radio Cornwall” from a gentleman named “Willie” in the “North Inn” in Pendeen.

Shengarum was popularly drank at feast days and festivals and was a favourite of Wassailers and Guise Dancers during the Winter “Guising” period.
