Raw Fry

Raw fry is a popular Cornish dish with many variations.  The basic principle is to chop onion and potato and sometimes turnip (swede) and slowly fry them over an extended period on a low heat. Some variations of this dish include finely chopped bacon. The potatoes and onion take on a caramalised taste and appearance after the longer than usual cooking process. Raw is often served with a poached or fried egg.
