Jowdle is a potato dish. Chip potatoes in the same manner you would if you were making a pasty. Similarly some onions. Melt butter and mix with oil in a frying pan, wait until the butter melts and mixes with the oil. Add the potato and the onion to the pan after frying the contents. Cover with water and season well, cook until the ingredients are soft. Chopped fried bacon may be added at the end of the cooking process or the water replaced with a stock of the chef’s choice.
